TRAVERTINE / ORIGIN, CUT & FINISH

Travertine: origin, cut and finish.

Compare Italian ivory and silver selections, light Turkish travertine, and Iranian red, gold and silver directions. Origin is a starting point: the quarry, block and cut determine the material you approve.

Vein cut or cross cut

Vein cutting reveals the layers as directional bands; cross cutting creates a more clouded, open pattern. Compare both around the scale of a wall, tabletop or curved bath piece.

Pores, filling & finish

Unfilled stone shows its natural cavities. Filled surfaces depend on the filling material and colour as well as the final finish. Agree a physical sample, including visible edges and returns.

From a piece to a project

Furniture, bathroom pieces, interior floors and exterior paving need different reviews. Coordinate thickness, support, cleaning and the specified slip and weathering performance for each area.
