The stone

Close up and on the slab.

The long lines run mostly one way through the block, crossed here and there by finer veins. Choose from photographs of the actual slabs and decide which way the lines run on each piece before cutting.

Quartzite

Working with quartzite.

  1. 01

    Natural, and hard

Most natural quartzites are harder than marble and stand up better to kitchen use; ask us about a particular slab for a kitchen. It is a natural stone, not engineered quartz.

  2. 02

    Finish for the use

Polished for depth and translucency, honed or leathered for a softer, more tactile surface. Seal it like any natural stone.

  3. 03

    Read the whole slab

Movement and translucency vary through a block. We send photographs of the actual slabs, backlit where it matters, before cutting.
