What to Check Before Stone Is Packed and Shipped

The last chance to fix a piece is before the crate is closed. A useful inspection record ties the approved drawing to the pieces going into each crate, and you see it before anything is packed. Export crates are plywood, which needs no fumigation, or treated solid timber, chosen with you for the order and its price.

Start with the product. Size, weight, finish and delivery method shape the packing plan, from the individual piece to the crate and container.

Protect legs, edges and joints.

1. Check against the approved drawing

Inspection starts from the drawing revision you approved, the finish schedule and the piece codes. Any change you accepted along the way is noted beside the piece it affects, so everyone checks against the same version.

2. Photograph what matters

First the whole piece or group, then the details: key dimensions, visible edges, openings, joints, laid-out areas and the finish. If a piece is corrected, it is photographed again after the correction. You approve the photographs before packing starts.

3. Pack for the shape and weight

Weight, shape and the fragile parts decide the crate. Faces are separated, corners and edges protected, and the piece is braced so it cannot move. The crate is photographed open and closed.

4. Mark crates to the packing list

Each crate carries a number that matches the packing list, agreed with you, so the site team can find a piece without opening every box. For a stair or a floor, crates follow the installation order.

5. Know who covers damage

We load every full container ourselves; if pieces in a full container arrive damaged, we replace or refund them in full. Every part load we ship DDP is insured: check the crates on arrival and note any damage when you sign. If your own forwarder ships a part load, claims go through them.
